Simon Pooley was born in Cheshire in 1955. He was trained as an architect in London and practiced in Sheffeld for twelve years. In 1992, he became a full-time artist, settling near Lamorna on the Lands’s End Peninsula with his wife Hilary. A keen traveller, he sketches wherever he goes. Back in the studio, his drawings then give shape to his recollections. From dynamic dancers to exotic landscapes, his colourful and versatile images seek to preserve the essence of a passing moment. Simon's pictures of characterful felines strike a chord with fellow cat lovers, capturing the poise, elegance and eccentricities of cat behaviour. Simon is a member of the Newlyn Society of Artists and exhibits widely throughout Cornwall, as well as at Messum’s in Cork Street and the City Gallery, London.
